What We Do
Aniban ng mga Manggagawa sa Agrikultura (AMA) or Union of Agricultural Workers is a national organization of peasants, small farmers, agricultural workers and artisanal fishers in the Philippines. Founded in January 28, 1978 to provide voice and organization to millions of agricultural workers in the country suffering from agrarian and rural injustice.
POLICY ADVOCACY and MASS CAMPAIGNS
Lend VOICE and VISIONS of rural actors in the national and local governments to promote their rights and interests
AMA actively promote and engage in policy discussions and advocates sustainable rural development, food sovereignty, social justice and human rights, ecological and climate justice
NETWORKING and ALLIANCE BUILDING
CONNECTING and COLLABORATING among different sectors to STRENGTHEN and REALIZE sustainable development, social justice, human rights, food sovereignty and ecological and climate justice
AMA actively works with and actively participate in various advocacy networks, alliance and coalition to advance its advocacy, promote grassroots solidarity and collective action
GRASSROOTS CAPABILITY BUILDING and EMPOWERMENT
EDUCATE, DEVELOP and EMPOWER rural actors toward progressive, critical and active citizens
AMA provides grassroots capability trainings, issues and advocacy discussions to rural men and women, young and old to promote active citizenship, solidarity, cooperation and human rights
LOCAL GRASSROOTS ORGANIZING
STRENGTHENING and EMPOWERING rural actors to promote Justice, Human Rights and Gender Equality in the community
AMA actively organize rural poor and marginalized sectors in the rural community to promote Social Justice, Gender Fairness, Human Rights through collective action and solidarity

Ka Rene as simply called. Is a long time peasant/small farmer activist since the Dark Days of Martial Law in the Philippines. While being a farmer leader, he was also a representative in the Provincial Farmers Council, a Transport Leader.
Val Vibal
National Campaign Coordinator
Ka Val is the national vice - president and national campaign coordinator of AMA. Currently, he represents AMA in the National Anti-Poverty Commission - Farmers Council, Board Auditor of the Philippine Movement for Climate Justice, National Council Member of Philippine Alliance of Human Rights Advocates (PAHRA), Member of Freedom from Debt Coalition (FDC) and co-convenor of the Task Force Food Sovereignty (TFFS) and BULIG Pilipinas
